Challenge
As an Outreach Coordinator for English Language Programs of the Department of State, I was tasked with leading the program’s first-ever exhibition at ISTELive + ASCD Annual Conference in 2025. Unlike TESOL, where the program was well known, this was uncharted territory in the edtech space—requiring us to translate stakeholder priorities into a credible, engaging presence that could resonate with a new audience.
Action
I coordinated the exhibition from start to finish, translating stakeholder visions into both design and execution. For the booth, I developed wall graphics—including bold neon signage—and managed all vendor logistics, from booth setup and furnishings to internet, electricity, shipping, and lead retrieval systems. To deliver on a stakeholder request for interactivity, I implemented a virtual photo booth and branded postcards that encouraged visitor participation. I also was one of the main leads on the design and production of the ISTE Playground session, aligning with the vision for a hands-on, engaging experience. This included creating passport booklets, posters, and display materials while coordinating 20 alumni and international counterpart presenters. Grounding design in stakeholder goals and logistics, I ensured a professional, impactful edtech debut.
Impact
The initiative elevated the visibility of the Virtual English Language Educator Program, launched in 2022, and positioned it alongside its two long-standing sister programs with 50+ and 30+ years of history. ISTE gave Virtual Educators a first major stage to showcase edtech expertise, drawing 200+ to the Playground session and extending the program’s reach beyond TESOL.

Below you’ll find examples of campaign collateral that moved from early Canva drafts into full professional production in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
ISTE Passport Booklet – Initially drafted in Canva, then fully adapted and built in Adobe InDesign with print-ready specs. The final result was professionally printed and distributed at the ISTE conference, where attendees used it in real time to collect stamps and engage with the Playground session.
ISTE Booth Wall Design – Concepted in Canva, then transferred and finalized in Adobe Illustrator for large-scale print. The final 20 ft × 8 ft hardwall display became the booth’s central visual feature at ISTE, creating a strong presence on the expo floor.
Note: Select work samples shown here have been adapted or modified to respect organizational branding.
Additional Sample
For English Language Programs’ presence at ACTFL 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana (November 21–23), the program purchased a 10 × 10 ft tension fabric wall display for its booth. The Georgetown University (GU) outreach team collaborated on the initial design concepts using Canva, which were then reviewed and approved by U.S. Department of State Global Program Officers. I recreated the final approved design in Adobe Illustrator, ensuring it met all vector, color, and high-resolution printing specifications required by the vendor.
Because the original file is large and optimized for large-format printing, a screenshot of the design is shown below for viewing purposes, along with a photo of the full life-size display set up at the GU offices.
