The Story Behind My Work
My career began in English language education, but it was never just about the classroom. From the start, my focus has been on how communication—whether through teaching, writing, or storytelling—can open doors, connect people, and drive growth.
My Journey
My path began in Daegu, South Korea, where I taught English at a private academy. Living abroad, I saw firsthand how English—the global language—enables people to connect, pursue opportunities, and share their ideas across borders. In today’s world, someone in Japan can build a business with clients in the U.S. from the comfort of their home using technology—language is the bridge that makes this possible. That realization inspired me to study TESL and Linguistics and dedicate myself to helping people achieve their goals through clear communication. They say the best way to get good at something is by teaching it, and that’s where my journey truly began.
As an educator, I guided international students preparing for U.S. universities, trained preservice teachers in Puerto Rico and Mexico, and launched innovative projects like Conversation Clubs and a Pronunciation Lab for nursing students. These experiences showed me how education empowers people to step into new opportunities.
As an editor and content creator, I extended this focus on clarity into the written word—helping to develop SM Ediciones Puerto Rico’s first culturally rooted English Language Development textbook series, polishing nonfiction books through my editing business, and creating marketing campaigns that gave programs and authors a stronger voice.
Today, as Outreach Coordinator for English Language Programs of the U.S. Department of State, I’ve broadened my impact into program visibility and community building. I’ve designed national conference campaigns, led interactive events at global EdTech conferences, and built alumni engagement strategies that transform participants into mentors and ambassadors.
At every step—whether in teaching, editing, or outreach—my work has been driven by one belief: clear communication connects people and creates lasting change.
